WBOE - Cleveland Board of Education
11/21/38 - The station owned by the Cleveland Public Schools broadcasts its first programming from Lafayette School
on Abell Avenue.
1/39 - WBOE-AM moves to the sixth floor of the Cleveland Board of Education building on East Sixth Street.
1941 - Station moves to the FM band, the first educational outlet in the nation to convert its signal. It broadcasts at
1000 watts on 42.5 megahertz.
1948 - WBOE-FM increases its power to 10,000 watts, and moves to 90.3 mHz.
1978 - The financially ailing Cleveland School system is forced to let WBOE-FM go dark, and halts programming.
